Channeled Scablands and the Palouse Falls
18,000-15,000 years ago the Glacial Lake Missoula dam. stretching 3,000 square miles, burst and released flood waters across Idaho and Washington, and down the Columbia River into Oregon before reaching the Pacific Ocean.The Palouse Falls is the only major waterfall left along this thousands-of-years-old flood path.
The Palouse
The Palouse is one of the most spectacular places I’ve ever seen. It is acres and acres of rolling hills primarily populated by farms. The colors of the rolling hills - greens, browns, and yellow - are influenced by the seasons, the crops planted, the weather, and the light coming from above.
